UNIKAT standards for "UNiverselles Interface zur Kommunikation aller Transportbeteiligter" (Universal Interface for Communication between all Transport Parties) and is tailored to the needs of rail operators.

Bills of lading and transport orders can be received and processed in UNIKAT. UNIKAT has interfaces to the transport partners, i.e. to carriers (rail, truck, feeder/inland waterway vessel), haulage contractors, quay operators, authorities (harbour police, fire service), customs as well as to the IT systems HABIS, WADIS, LPK etc. relevant to rail handling. DAKOSY is currently extending the UNIKAT functionalities so that medium-sized rail operators in particular can continue to optimize the handling for their container trains at German ports.

It goes without saying that UNIKAT also has modules for scheduling the vehicle fleet, arranging trains, compiling timetables and invoice handling together with interfaces to the customer's own financial accounting.
