Import Message Platform (IMP)

IMP supports the requirements of carriers, terminals, freight forwarders, transport companies, importers and the relevant authorities to operate as a Single Window environment. It allows for the electronic and mostly-automated exchange of information and thus speeds up import processing to make it more effective.

For each import process on the disposal and the manifest, IMP creates a data pool that is repackaged for each process step (declarations to authorities, transport processing, etc.) Current status information is continuously updated and helps improve planning and scheduling options for all participants. Bottlenecks can be identified early on - in the context of the goods - and can largely be avoided.

Functions for carriers

By sending your manifests to IMP at an early stage, you can take advantage of its many time-saving functions while meeting the requirements of the relevant authorities:

  • Create a summary declaration (SumA)
  • Declaration of transshipment dispatches to ZAPP
  • Monitoring functions
  • Declarations to authorities according to regulations of the Veterinary Office, Water Police, Office for Plant Health Control, and Statistics Office (North)

Information taken from the manifest forms the basis for the summary declaration and numerous additional summary declaration functions, including:

  • Confirmation of status information, including goods data from the advance summary declaration via EDI, e-mail or web client
  • Automatic transmission of the summary declaration to all process participants
  • Automatic confirmation of the summary declaration after discharge of a shipment
  • Monitoring of deadlines
  • Notification of errors, problems in the declaration process, inspection orders, etc.
  • Correction and editing functions in IMP-Direct

IMP sorts import/export data, follows the requirements of the various ZAPP registration steps, and sends the export declaration for the carrier to the ZAPP IT system.

  • Recognition of transshipments, including integration of terminal transfers
  • Creation of the carrier’s transshipment dispatches to ZAPP
  • Confirmation of status information via EDI, e-mail or web client
  • Monitoring of deadlines
  • Notification of errors, problems in the declaration process, inspection orders, etc.
  • Correction and editing functions in IMP-Direct

Customs declarants / truckers

Do you want to receive status information from IMP without sending a disposal? You can use IMP to make status requests as a Customs declarant or transport company.

  • Customs declarants are given information about summary declarations and status with relevant authorities (Veterinary Office, Water Police).
  • Transport companies are provided with container-based status messages about the transport process.

The port still keeps on running outside normal office hours. You need to confirm a Customs application after hours? The Auto-IMP function helps you do it!

Numerous status messages keep you informed while the goods are still on the high seas, during the next steps to the terminal, through Customs processing and on to delivery at the terminal. What kind of messages and how many are received will be determined by the respective roles of the participants.

Functions for freight forwarders

With the disposal, you not only send a request to IMP as a freight forwarder or importer, but also trigger various follow-up processes depending on your requirements, e.g. sending the transport order to the transport company.

For shipments which are subject to inspection by the Veterinary Office, IMP processes all status messages and transmits them to the relevant participants.

Using data from the manifest and the disposal, IMP can create a transport order as a PDF file or as an XML message. The transport company receives not only the transport order, but also all status messages for the transaction.

Save yourself a step: IMP can automatically send the certificate of obligation A18 to the terminal.

Advantages at a glance

  • Available as a web solution and as a neutral EDI Platform.
  • The manifest triggers all authority registrations for the carrier.
  • The disposal provides the freight forwarder with status information.
  • Automated follow-up processing (AutoIMP).
  • Optimized scheduling options for terminals, if it is known which transport company is picking up the container.
  • Better disposition for the trucker due to status information on the container’s readiness for pick-up.
