On May 15, 2018, the handling agents FCS Frankfurt Cargo Services GmbH and LUG aircargo handling GmbH introduced mandatory slot booking for door clearances. This means that deliveries and pickups are only possible when a prior slot booking has been made. This will lead to a clear improvement in faster and easy-to-plan processing for all participants.

Slot booking is simple and takes only a few minutes. The trucker/forwarder only needs to fill out a transport pre announcement (TPA) and send it to the Door Management System (RSS). Within a short time they will receive the appointment confirmation or a suggested alternative appointment time from the GHA.

Ways to access Slot Booking:

• FAIR@Link Users can conveniently make slot bookings using their access data and receive corresponding status messages.
• All other customers can send an e-mail (rss-fra@dakosy.de) for registration. There are two versions for the FAIR@Link Module “Door Management System (RSS)” available: The free “Standard Version” includes all the features necessary to use slot booking. The fee-based “Professional Version” offers a range of additional features such as statistics and status updates that are even easier to use and make the processes more transparent.
  
  Bookings can also be made at Lufthansa Cargo using either of these options.
  
  
• In addition, software companies can connect with FAIR@Link via the appropriate EDI interface, allowing their customers to make slot bookings through their applications.
