My workday begins with a glass of water and a cold shower, every day. The cold water stimulates my nervous system, boosts my well-being, and gives me a ton of energy for the day.
Jana Bauer has been working as a UX/UI designer at DAKOSY since January 2023. Prior to this, she was self-employed for several years as a marketing consultant and skydiving instructor, working throughout the world. During this time, she was able to follow and build on her two great passions. Her interest in design and creativity developed at a young age. Alongside her traditional schooling, she attended an art school, beginning to participate in art competitions at the age of twelve, and after passing her final exams at technical college, completed a training program as a visual marketing designer at Karstadt in Hamburg. She remained loyal to the department store even after she finished her training program, continuing to develop there. In 2012, she began to focus on online marketing when Karstadt invested in this area and launched their first tools such as online shopping and customer support.
In 2013, a skydiving adventure near Berlin turned her life in a new direction. She immediately knew she wanted to turn skydiving into her profession as well, and began training to become a skydiving instructor. Upon completing her training, she became self-employed and worked for several years in both professions — online marketing and skydiving — globally, traveling to New Zealand, Bali, Jordan, China, and Portugal. At the same time, she continued her education, completing a degree as a marketing business economist at Fernuniversität Hagen with a focus on digital marketing, and subsequently, a program at an international academy to become a UX as well as UI designer.
