Process forwarding orders “in the flow”

First demo version to be presented at the Transport Logistic fair

By using a digital workflow instead of creating manual to-do lists, CargoSoft and DAKOSY customers will be able to make their day-to-day forwarding operations easier in the near future. The DAKOSY subsidiary CargoSoft will be presenting an initial demo version at their joint stand at Transport Logistic, the leading trade fair in Munich. The two software specialists from Hamburg and Bremen have pooled their expertise to develop this workflow application.

State-of-the-art technology for workflow applications

  • Decoupled microservices in a Kubernetes cluster
  • Design for high reliability and fail-safe operation
  • Automated build pipelines facilitate updates without service interruptions
  • Successfully proven technology, currently in operation with DAKOSY's Export Management Platform (EMP)

“Make sure everything is done on time and don't forget anything while carrying out all your forwarding orders!” These demands are a constant challenge for forwarding agents in their everyday work. Workflow functions integrated into IT applications make these tasks easier for freight forwarders. DAKOSY and CargoSoft are currently developing a customized tool for the industry that will integrate forwarding processing, customs clearance and other operational tasks in the future. “The aim is to take our users by the hand digitally and guide them through their orders. We are developing in real time and on an iterative basis so that the first products can be put into operation very soon,” outlines DAKOSY CEO Simon Lembke.

CargoSoft will be presenting an initial prototype of its TMS software at the Transport Logistic trade fair. “We will show the digitalized workflow for a sea cargo import order and the resulting interaction with our TMS software,” explains CargoSoft Managing Director Uwe Droste. The pending tasks are displayed as a dashboard. The status function provides an overview, showing which events are still open, in progress or have already been processed.

“The plan is to develop standard workflows for order processing that can be used to manage the majority of the order volume. This includes both FCL and LCL processes for import and export,” explains Droste. The “guided order processing” makes it easier to integrate personnel with no extensive freight forwarding knowledge into operational activities.
