Automatic Summary Declaration presentation

New FAIR@Link feature for import processing

Thanks to a new FAIR@Link feature, cargo handling agents CHI and Kühne + Nagel can speed up their import processes at Frankfurt Airport.

Based on the shipment data provided by the airlines or CHAs in FRA-OS, the new import module of FAIR@Link, it can be determined well in advance which shipments are to be expected to arrive at Frankfurt Airport, including all shipment details (= target data of the shipment).

Particularly for consolidated shipments that are presented at the forwarder's gateway, it is always necessary to physically check what has actually arrived before the presentation. The result (= actual data) is documented in the check manifest and compared - usually manually - with the target data before the Summary Declaration presentation takes place. As a rule, this is done at the master level. Aside from the time spent on the comparison, the presentation can only take place once the last house has been checked in.

This is where the new FAIR@Link feature comes in. CHI can now provide the check manifest digitally and compare it with the target data in FAIR@Link at house level. If the shipment details match, the summary presentation takes place immediately. In case of discrepancies, FAIR@Link sends an e-mail and the presentation can be triggered manually after the discrepancy has been corrected. Both the automatic target/actual comparison and the immediate presentation when the individual house has been checked in ensure both significant time savings and increased data quality for the presentation - and as a result, fewer customs errors!

As the feature is such a boost in efficiency for all parties involved, FAIR@Link plans to roll it out for part shipments ASAP.
