Planting trees in Klövensteen, Hamburg
On November 14, 2022, DAKOSY participated in the second tree planting campaign organized by Logistik Initiative Hamburg. In addition to planting around 3,300 trees, the campaign focused on sustainability, regional commitment and collaboration along the logistics value chain, including within the participating companies.
"Awareness of protecting the environment should start at the 'small' level. Only then can we take sustainable practices as a matter of course," is the strong belief of our Environmental Officer Juliana Neugebauer Mennen.
Accordingly, she was excited to be able to participate in the "Hamburgs Logistik pflanzt Zukunft 2022" (Hamburg's Logistics Plants the Future 2022) campaign in Hamburg's Klövensteen region on behalf of DAKOSY, taking part together with her five-year-old daughter. The fact that the weather was ideal and that she was able to make many valuable contacts in the logistics community were additional plus points. The two are definitely planning to attend again next year.
Sustainability has been an integral part of DAKOSY's corporate activities for several years now. As a first step, we determined our CO2 footprint and were then able to make an additional contribution to counteracting climate change by offsetting it. Since April 22, 2022, we have had a CO2 compensation certificate and are thus climate-neutral for the year 2021 according to the leading global standard for CO2 accounting, Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
