Andrea Burmester, Head of Sample Logistics at TOM TAILOR, closely coordinated the implementation process together with Alexandra Karge, Senior Specialist Outbound Logistics and Frank Falke, Manager Inbound Logistics: “Overall, we are very satisfied with the ZODIAK GE software. We use the customs procedures for import, NCTS, export and bonded warehouse handling. Initially, there were some delays in the implementation, as a major ATLAS release change was pending at DAKOSY, which meant that manpower resources were otherwise committed there. Now that we are up and running with the software and the interfaces for data transfer, the functionality and performance are very good and we are happy with our decision to go with DAKOSY and ZODIAK GE.”

Alexandra Karge is the expert for ZODIAK GE in terms of exports, and she confirms: “We particularly like the clear structure and straightforward layout of the screens, which makes it quick to use and easy to train new colleagues. The quick overview of all customs declarations, status messages and activities for individual users is also very valuable.” The customs warehouse procedures are used for imports and exports and are rated highly by both departments. Frank Falke particularly appreciates the ability to evaluate inventories and movements quickly and easily, as well as the options for allocating freight costs and assigning documents per individual goods item.

For imports, the Import Management Platform (IMP) is another DAKOSY service that provides TOM TAILOR with significant time savings. Frank Falke explains: “We prepare the import customs payment of duties in ZODIAK GE and as soon as the vessel has docked at the port, the customs process is automatically triggered to ATLAS via the IMP. This speeds up the clearance procedure and we can schedule the pick-up process without having to rely on the sea freight forwarder.”
