The project aims to make the release process digitalized and more secure, as well as to comply with the new regulatory requirements of the Port Security Act. This will ensure that it is possible to trace which party is authorized for the disposition of a container at all times, from its waterway arrival at the port until its pick-up by the transport company. The previous anonymous PIN procedure will be successively replaced by a personalized digital "Authorization for Pick-up". It is anticipated that the new procedure will be mandatory for all companies involved in import processes from October 1, 2025.
